These portfolios are important in the sense that the contents decide whether you would get the future assignments or would be perennially wait for your career to take off.
It is important to acquire the first entry level job, as soon as you have complete your college and made up your mind as to where you want to go. Online job boards, online or print classified ads or the college or university placement desks are places where you could get to know about computer graphic design jobs. Similarly, freelance jobs could be found through online job boards, classified ads as well as job for hire boards. For design careers work for hire boards work better than other careers.
